1. How do I perform a regular cleaning of my Evolis Primacy 2 & Evolis Asmi ID card printer using Adhesive Cleaning Card? (After every 1000 cards)

To perform a regular cleaning of your Primacy 2 printer using an Evolis adhesive cleaning card, follow these steps:

Open the printer cover.
Remove the ribbon.
Close the cover and press down until you hear a click.
Open the card feeder.
Remove any cards and adjust the card thickness lever to the maximum setting.
On the control panel, double-click the power button.
Peel the film off the adhesive cleaning card and insert it into the feeder with the adhesive side facing up. The cleaning process will start automatically.
Once the cleaning is complete, the used adhesive card will be ejected into the output hopper.
Important: Before resuming printing, reset the card thickness gauge to your desired setting.

2. How do I perform a regular cleaning of my Evolis Primacy 2 & Evolis Asmi ID card printer using Swabs?
(After every 1000 cards)

To clean the print head using an Evolis cleaning swab:

Take the Evolis cleaning swab and press the center of the tube until the cotton tip is saturated with isopropyl alcohol.
Unplug the printer’s power supply, open the cover, and locate the print head.
Lift the protective cover and gently wipe the cotton swab from left to right across the print head for a few seconds.
Close the cover and reconnect the printer.

Regular cleaning with Evolis-supplied cotton swabs helps maintain optimal print quality and removes excess ink buildup from the print head.

3. How do I perform an advanced cleaning of my Evolis Primacy 2 & Evolis Asmi ID card printer using T- Cleaning Card, Adhesive Card and Swab ? (After every 5000 cards)

We recommend an advanced clean after every five regular cleaning cycles.

1. Printer Cleaning (Requires: “T” cleaning card, adhesive card)

Open cover, remove ribbon (if present), and close cover.
Open feeder, set card thickness to MAX, and remove any cards.
Double-click cleaning button, then insert “T” card into feeder — cleaning starts.
Remove “T” card, peel film off adhesive card, insert it (adhesive side up) — cleaning starts.
Adhesive card is ejected automatically.

2. Print Head Cleaning (Requires: cleaning pen)

Remove pen cap.
Unplug printer, open cover, locate print head.
Lift protective cover and gently rub pen left to right on print head.
Close cover, reconnect power.
Wait 2 minutes before using printer.

4. How do I fix a broken Evolis Ribbon ?

Remove the ribbon from the printer, clear any visible debris from the rollers, then use transparent adhesive tape to join the broken ends. Wind the ribbon as shown in the video
